Claire combines working as a paediatric consultant with service transformation within the wider health economy, as lead for clinical transformation in the Children and Young People’s Health Partnership and the children’s hospital at Guy’s and St. Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. She spent two and a half years at the Department of Health and World Health Organisation where she worked in public health, quality improvement and developing clinical leadership programmes. During 2004-05, Claire was a Harkness Fellow in Health Policy, in Boston, USA, where she researched the effects of communication in paediatric medication safety. Claire has an M.D. in patient safety, an M.B.A., and an M.P.H. She has co-authored two books on medical management.
