Jane King

The first female editor of Farmer’s Weekly, Jane is an award-winning editor and change leader with almost 30 years experience in producing magazines, websites and events for a wide range of business and professional audiences – retailers, doctors, employment lawyers, HR managers and social workers.

Editor of the Year (Business) in the 2010 British Society of Magazine Editor Awards, Jane has been a Director of the charity the Oxford Farming Conference and was appointed Senior Visiting Fellow at the Lincoln School of Journalism, Lincoln University (2011).

Under Jane’s leadership, Farmer’s Weekly was twice named PPA Business Magazine of the Year (2006, 2010), and won PPA Community Website of the Year in 2011 and Business Editorial Team of the Year in 2009. Jane also oversaw the launch of the Farmers’ Apprentice (a competition for young people to showcase the skills required by farmers of the future, supported by McDonalds), andThe Academy, an e-learning service to enhance and encourage continuing professional development.
