Liz has been working in social and market research for over 16 years. Her research career began in a think tank specialising in labour market and financial exclusion. From there she joined Opinion Leader where she worked for a variety of public, voluntary and private sector clients. After Opinion Leader, Liz gained client-side experience at NEST (a pension provider established to fulfill the objectives for automatic enrolment into workplace pensions) working at the heart of perhaps the biggest behavioural experiment ever – automatic enrolment. She led a programme of influential consumer research. Her analysis of pension consumer attitudes and behaviour has shaped NEST’s investment approach and stimulated debate around consumer reactions to risk and uncertainty.
During her time at Opinion Leader, Liz was part of a core team who pioneered the use of deliberative approaches to engage the public on complex and often sensitive issues and policy developments. Liz managed the National Pensions Debate for DWP and contributed to the Your health, Your care, Your say consultation for DoH. She also contributed to the Darzi review research programme and undertook a Citizens’ Jury for the GMC on consent.
She holds a Masters with distinction in Social Research Methods.
