After ten years of delivering large scale IT and change management programmes, Sam now focuses on the involvement of patients and the public, alongside service professionals, in understanding, developing and using information and technology to revolutionise care. Her vision is for information and technology to become enablers in creating a new dynamic partnership between patients and clinicians.
Sam is currently Director of Operations at the Private Healthcare Information Network (PHIN), working to collect and publish data about UK private and independent healthcare to help patients, their families and GPs make informed choices about care. Prior to this, she was Director of London Connect, a NHS programme that brought people and information together to improve care across London.
Sam was appointed to the CQC’s Intelligence Expert Advisory Group in 2013, to improve the use of information for measuring quality and has spoken at national and international conferences about the use, and impact, of information in care.
